Greetings, fellow enthusiasts! I'm Daniel Belew, the Executive Director of Rescue Residences, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending veteran homelessness. Our ambitious initiative, Desert jamboree 2023, marks our first year of bringing ambulance conversions from all corners of the country to Southern California. The goal? To foster a sense of community, share experiences, and explore the concept of living in an ambulance as a viable housing solution.
While our journey begins in Southern California, our vision extends nationally. We aim to replicate our success across the country, contributing to the broader mission of ending veteran homelessness.

This year's event has seen a handful of ambulances camping on-site, providing an intimate setting for enthusiasts to learn about our mission and each other. With our very first ambulance on display, participants have the opportunity to witness the transformation and learn from one another, especially those embarking on their first ambulance conversion journey.
