My Honest Review of the Flybird Bench After Four Years

I've had my Flybird bench for over four years now, and I want to share my honest review on how it's held up. Overall, it has been a reliable and sturdy piece of equipment, with a few minor issues that have emerged over time.

Firstly, the seat has started to degrade slightly at the metal seam. While this isn’t a major problem and the bench remains usable, it's worth noting. The metal frame itself has been quite resilient, although there are a few rusty spots. Fortunately, these haven’t affected the bench’s functionality.

The back of the bench has held up perfectly, with no tearing or issues. The wood remains intact, which is a testament to its durability. The adjustable slots for different bench heights are also in good condition. Typically, I set my incline bench at a particular angle to accommodate my 180 lb weight and 70 lb dumbbells. Even with these weights, the bench feels solid and sturdy.

However, I do sometimes get a bit nervous about the small clips that hold the bench in place. While the welds have held up fine, I occasionally have to bump the clips to get them in and out of position. This is a minor inconvenience that could probably be fixed by bending the clips a bit.

One of the main reasons I chose the Flybird bench was its compactness. It folds down small enough to fit in the under-bay of my school bus conversion, making it perfect for travel. Despite the minor issues, such as the seat degradation and clip adjustments, this benefit outweighs the drawbacks for me.

In conclusion, after four years of extensive use, I am satisfied with the Flybird bench's performance. While I'll keep an eye on the welds to avoid any potential accidents, I would still recommend this bench to others. Its durability and compact size make it a great investment for those needing a reliable and portable weight bench.
